LONG BEACH, Calif. (Mar. 9, 2008)--Seven 24 at new song community in Oceanside, California is college ministry. The age ranges from 18 to 30-years-old. The youth pastor is Edwin Samson who is 27 -years-old. Seven 24 is every Sunday night starting at 7:24 p.m.
My Thoughts:
The worship music has more of a rock sound then the traditional sound one usually hears in church. Seven 24 is a little more edge to it. I think it is a great way for college students who have something in common get together and do what they love to do best which is praise Jesus.
Seven 24 is a little different than regular services. When one first walks in it seems like your in a rock concert. The room is dark with little light. There are smoke machines going off and there is black curtains up with metal walls up. They do this to make the youth feel more in there element. Another thing that is different is that if one doesn't understand something then you are able to ask a question.

Would you prefer a traditional church setting as opposed to Seven 24?
I would like to have both because seven 24 is just an extra service on Sunday night with college students and everyone still attends the morning service. Seven 24 is just another way to connect with the youth and to make it a comfortable enviorment because one my find it hard to speak about religion to older individuals and then they feel like they can't connect.
