LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 23, 2008)--Gays accused of christian bashing is an article that was released on March 7, 2008 from religion and spirituality.com. The article goes to say that the sisters of perpetual indulgence, a group of transvestites in San Diego, Calif, who dress up as nuns.

Recently on March 8, 2008 the group has put on an event to promote their beliefs about Christianity and what they think of it. They mock the church with explicit acts.

The homosexual community wants the church to accept them, but at the same time how would they feel if Christians dressed and mocked them the way they do to people of religious faith. The article also goes to say that Christians would be called hateful bigots.

My Thoughts:

This is not a way to be accepted into something that one wants to be a part of. Nobody likes to be mocked, and everyone should be respectful to other peoples beliefs even if you don't agree with it.

The sister's of perpetual indulgence are extremely disrespectful and are never going to get what they want out of religious communities. This is a never ending battle with these two groups, and it's sad because the religious groups definitely get more negative attention then the homosexual group that is mocking them. It is a double standard.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 16, 2008) -- Rebellious Arab girl has posted a blog on March 14, 2008 about religious hypocrisy. She goes to talk about the meaning of Friday prayer with Arabs. She says that their are so many hypocrites going to Friday prayer. They will commit every sin since the beginning of time and then go to Friday prayer. Arab girl goes to say that its not the opinion of what people think, it is the opinion of God. She thinks these people are missing a few brain cells or too much vodka has gone to their brains. The reason she writes this is because she has come across people who preach to her about being a better Muslim, when they go drinking and clubbing. She also says it has a lot to do with her not wearing the hijab.

My Thoughts:

Rebellious Arab girl is facing what many people of religious faith face everyday. There are many people in the church that are hypocrites, but I also think they're dealing with their own convictions. Sometimes people, with out realizing that they are being hypocrites tend to give advise well, but never take it.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2008)--A search through Cal State University Library’s academic databases showed that religion is active on campuses, religious studies, hypocrisy, homosexuality and violence on religion is a substantial amount of the news reports involving religion on major university campuses.

In regard to the first issue, religion is active on campuses, one school, The University of North Carolina Press investigates the practicing and teaching of religion at American universities and colleges is explored. When teenagers go off to school do the turn atheist or look for religious activities on campus.

On the second topic and third topic, both religious studies and hypocrisy are investigated as concern by the University of Rhode Island whether students are interested in religion as well as their education. There is a lot of emphasis on hypocrisy and the negative aspects of religion and how religion is out of sync with current cultural trends.

On the fourth topic, The University of Notre Dame has much concern about homosexuals that are into religion. Homosexuals face a lot of negative attention because people who are active in religion see homosexuality as a disease even though the medical field has ruled that out.

On the fifth topic, Webster University investigates violence on religion. The research conducted that religiously motivated violence gas focused on causes like social political, cultural, and environmental factors.

The five concerns of religion on college campuses are major issues that students face every day. It is all about finding a middle ground for everyone.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Mar. 9, 2008)--Seven 24 at new song community in Oceanside, California is college ministry. The age ranges from 18 to 30-years-old. The youth pastor is Edwin Samson who is 27 -years-old. Seven 24 is every Sunday night starting at 7:24 p.m.

My Thoughts:

The worship music has more of a rock sound then the traditional sound one usually hears in church. Seven 24 is a little more edge to it. I think it is a great way for college students who have something in common get together and do what they love to do best which is praise Jesus.

Seven 24 is a little different than regular services. When one first walks in it seems like your in a rock concert. The room is dark with little light. There are smoke machines going off and there is black curtains up with metal walls up. They do this to make the youth feel more in there element. Another thing that is different is that if one doesn't understand something then you are able to ask a question.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2008)-- According to The Wall Street Journal on February 26, 2008, nearly half of adults in the U.S. have switched from the faith which they were raised or have dropped ant religious affiliation, a survey of 35,000 adults found.

My Thoughts:

I was raised catholic and I am now christian. In my experience most of my family has switched their faith. This was just a small survey but it seems pretty accurate.

My family thought felt that we weren't getting anything by going to a catholic church. The first time I went to a Christian church I felt like I got something out of it. I didn't feel like this was a routine, I learned something new every week.

There are many people that I know that don't believe in anything now. They say that they were brain washed when they were young, and they wished they never had to go to church. I have also noticed that these people are very smart individuals with a good education and have great success in their life. I found that interesting because someone once told me that people who don't believe in the bible or God they are all very educated, I wonder why that is.
